Academic Credit Transfers and Transfer Courses

Credit transfers from outside Rutgers School of Business-Camden to M.B.A. Program

 

Students in the Rutgers School of Business-Camden Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) online or on-campus program may receive approval for up to six (6) graduate credits of business coursework from a school outside Rutgers University provided ALL of the following criteria ae met:

  • The institution from which the credits are earned must be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB)

  • A grade of B or better was received upon completion of the course (official transcripts required)

  • The course is equivalent, in content, to an appropriate three (3) credit Rutgers School of Business-Camden M.B.A. graduate course

  • For coursework done outside the United States, a course evaluation by a NACES authorized agency such as SpanTran or WES is required

  • Coursework must have been taken within ten (10) calendar years from first enrollment.

  • Transfer credits must be approved by the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs

NOTE: The Professional M.B.A. and graduate certificate programs (non-degree) do not accept transfer credits.

For transfer credit eligibility, applicants to the Rutgers School of Business-Camden Master of Science in Business Analytics (online and on-campus), Master of Science in Finance - Financial Planning or Master Accountancy Program, must consult with the graduate advising office: rsbc.grad@camden.rutgers.edu.

Transfer Courses between Rutgers School of Business-Camden Master's Degree Programs

Students who are accepted into a second Rutgers School of Business-Camden (RSBC) master's degree program (after completing an initial RSBC master's degree) can transfer up to twelve (12) credits between programs so long as those courses satisfy the applicable degree requirements, all degree requirements for both degrees are met and pending the program director/associate dean's approval. The following criteria apply:

- Waived courses cannot be applied as a transfer course between programs.

- The transfer course option between Rutgers School of Business-Camden degree programs is restricted to a time frame of within five years of completing the first graduate degree.

- The transfer course option applies only to courses within the Rutgers School of Business-Camden, not academic units within Rutgers nor outside the university.

Transfer of Courses from a Rutgers School of Business-Camden Non-degree Graduate Certificate to a Rutgers School of Business-Camden Graduate Degree Program

Courses completed while in a non-degree Rutgers School of Business-Camden (RSBC) graduate certificate program may be transferred to an RSBC graduate degree program, provided the following criteria have been met:

  • Applicants to the RSBC master's degree program must be admitted to the program within ten (10) years of completing all the requirements of the RSBC graduate certificate.

  • A grade of B or better was received upon completion of the RSBC graduate certificate course.

Transfer of Courses from Rutgers School of Business-Camden Graduate Degree Programs to a Graduate Certificate Program

Students who graduated from a Rutgers School of Business-Camden graduate degree program and are interested in earning a Rutgers School of Business-Camden graduate certificate, should contact the graduate advising office for information on the eligibility of transfer courses: rsbc.grad@camden.rutgers.edu. Restrictions do apply.

Transfer of Courses from Rutgers School of Business (RBS) to Rutgers School of Business-Camden (RSBC)

If current Rutgers Business School graduate student who is in good standing wishes to transfer to the online or on-campus RSBC M.B.A. program, they may request waiver/transfer credits for up to 18 credits.

The following criteria apply:

-One or two-credit courses from RBS cannot be transferred.

-Managerial Economics will not transfer or be waived (it is a zero-credit seminar for RSBC).

-Not all courses taken at RBS may be eligible for transfer. Area faculty will evaluate which RBS courses can be considered equivalent to RSBC-required courses (i.e., core knowledge and applications). Any transferable 3-credit RBS course not counted as an RSBC core knowledge and applications course may be transferred as elective courses if so determined by the RSBC associate dean for graduate programs.

-RSBC matriculated students must meet all RSBC graduation requirements.  A transfer student may graduate with more than 42 credits from combined Rutgers programs.
